Engearment Podcast - My "Why" How Engearment started and using the loss of my family as motivation
I have wanted to share this story for a long time. This is the background on how and why Engearment and Colorado Personal Fitness started.
I have always loved the outdoors, exercise, and helping others. It was not until my younger brother passed at age 21, that I decided to leave the structured corporate world and pursue a path of helping others with their health and wellness.
Having always been a gear aficionado, my friend Dave and I started Engearment to share our love of the outdoors and the gear we use to enjoy it, with the world. We earned the respect of the companies we now get to work with on a daily basis. It has been a fun and wild ride!
After my sister was diagnosed with brain cancer, I took over as her caretaker. While she battled stage 4 GBM, and I was with her each day, it made me realize I can not be in front of people to help them. So, I doubled down on creating online courses for fitness and the gear review videos that you have probably seen.
I gauge my success by seeing and hearing how others have benefited from the gear reviews and fitness coaching. That is my reward!
After taking care of my parents, and losing both to stage 4 pancreatic cancer, it really reinforced how short life can be, and to make the most of each connection. In-person, online, or a combination. Make every moment count, every interaction deep, and count every opportunity as a blessing.
I hope this video gives you some insight into my motivation to do what I do. It is an honor to be able to provide content and services that help others. Thank you!
